Where rehab ends,
performance begins.
That was the gap we saw in 2010. It's the reason Performance EDU exists, and the origin of The EDU Method™.
The gap no one was filling.
In 2010, we saw a problem no one was solving. Clients were graduating from physical therapy with clearance to move, but nowhere to go. Big-box gyms weren't built for bodies coming out of injury or surgery. Most personal trainers weren't trained to handle load, progression, or recovery for post-rehab clients. People were stuck in the middle, unsure how to rebuild.
Marc had seen the answer at Athletes Performance (now EXOS), the industry-defining facility that pioneered modern high-performance training and prepared elite athletes for the NFL Combine, Olympic Games, and pro seasons worldwide. What worked for pros coming back from injury could work for anyone. But no one in Reno was doing it.
Performance EDU was founded to be that missing link. A facility where people coming out of rehab, surgery, or long layoffs could train under coaches who actually understood what their bodies needed. Not just harder workouts. Smarter ones.
What started as a bridge quickly became a home. For athletes, active adults, and anyone serious about training with purpose.
Three principles became
The EDU Method™.
Three words guided us from day one. Over 15 years of coaching, they became the methodology that now anchors every session on our floor.
Educate
Every session teaches you why, not just what. Clients leave knowing more about their body than when they walked in. Training sticks when you understand the mechanics.
Empower
Progress becomes yours to own. Rep by rep, session by session, confidence gets built into your body. Training becomes something you run, not something that's done to you.
Elevate
Everyone leaves better than they came in. Stronger bodies. Sharper minds. Higher standards. That's the promise every coach on our floor holds themselves to.
Fifteen years in the making.
Founded
Performance EDU opens its doors in Reno with a clear mission: bridge the gap between physical therapy and high-level performance training.
Establishing the model
Word spread through the medical community. Physical therapists began referring clients directly. The post-rehab-to-performance pipeline became our signature, something no other facility in the region offered.
Four ways to train. One methodology.
Programs evolved to serve athletes, semi-private groups, and full-facility members. TrainingEDU, BoardEDU, AthleteEDU, and SquadEDU launched as distinct paths into the same coaching standard: science-based, individualized, and built for the long game.
Kime PT joins as in-house partner
Kime Performance Physical Therapy joins the Performance EDU facility, bringing post-op rehab and performance rehab under the same roof. Clinical care meets coach-led training, zero handoff friction.
The EDU Method™ · Reno-Tahoe's premier coaching methodology
Fifteen years of refinement, now anchored in a named, trademarked methodology. Every EDU Method program starts with a movement evaluation, and every session on our floor runs on the same principles: Educate. Empower. Elevate.
Marc Digesti.
Marc Digesti is the founder and owner of Performance EDU and has spent more than two decades in the strength, conditioning, and human performance industry.
His career has been built around coaching, developing athletes, educating coaches, and creating training environments where people can perform at a higher level.
Marc founded Performance EDU with a vision of creating something beyond a traditional gym: a place where coaching, performance training, education, and physical therapy could work together under one roof.
Today, Marc leads the direction and continued growth of Performance EDU, develops its coaching staff and training philosophy, and works to continually raise the standard of what clients and athletes should expect from the performance industry.
His approach has also evolved beyond athletic performance alone. Through Performance EDU’s 100 Year Athlete philosophy, Marc believes strength and performance training should prepare people not only for their next season or competition, but for the decades ahead.
For Marc, Performance EDU has always been about more than training. It’s about building a team, developing great coaches, creating lasting relationships, and providing an environment where people can continue to get better.
