Foundation of The EDU Method

The
Evaluation.

Most people train what they can see. We test what they can't. The essential first session at Performance EDU.

Why This First

Training without testing is guessing.

Every body carries its own history: old injuries, compensation patterns, mobility restrictions, strength imbalances. Skip the assessment and you're prescribing a program to a body you don't actually know.

The Evaluation is how we get to know yours. A 60-minute professional assessment led by one of our coaches. Not a sales call, not a workout. A structured, methodical look at how you move today, what's driving what, and where to build first.

Every EDU Method program starts here. No client trains on our floor without one.

The Assessment

What we test.

A structured, coach-led screen that draws on the same assessment protocols used by pro sports teams and post-rehab clinics. Adapted for your body and your goals.

01

Movement & Injury History

A structured intake covering training history, current activities, past injuries, surgeries, and everything your body has been through. Context shapes programming.

02

Mobility Screen

Joint-by-joint mobility (ankle, hip, thoracic, shoulder) with asymmetry checks. Scored out of 36. We find where your body has room to move, and where it doesn't.

03

Movement Quality

Squat, hinge, lunge, push, pull, rotate. Scored out of 10. We identify compensations and control issues under load before they turn into injuries.

04

Strength Endurance

Baseline strength across primary patterns: Prone T hold, Goblet squat, Pull-ups. Each test tiered as Foundational, Developing, or Elite. What you can hold today is where your program starts.

05

Metabolic Baseline

250m Ski Erg time and effort profile. Establishes your conditioning starting point so we can build capacity without crushing recovery.

06

Goals & Programming Priorities

A real conversation about what you're actually training for. Then a prioritized list of what to work on first, in the right order. Not a wish list of everything.

You Leave With This

One page. Your scorecard.

The Evaluation produces a tangible deliverable: your Performance EDU scorecard. Every metric. Every score. Every priority. Plotted on one page, coded to tier, ready to guide the next 8 to 12 weeks of training.

The evaluation isn't the product.
The re-test is.

Every 8 to 12 weeks, we run the same tests. Same coach, same protocol, same page. Then we plot your progress side by side. Held or improved, test by test. This is how you know training is working.

This isn't a marketing story. It's a real client's 12-week arc. Same evaluation, same protocol, measurable progress on paper. That's the product.

The EDU Method

Test. Train. Re-test. Repeat.

The EDU Method is a coach-led, movement-first approach we've refined over 15 years training athletes, post-rehab clients, and active adults across Reno-Tahoe. Three principles guide every session on our floor: Educate. Empower. Elevate.

The Evaluation is where those principles start. Before we can educate you on how your body works, we have to know how yours works today. Before we can empower you to own your training, we need to hand you a plan that actually fits. Before we can elevate you, we have to know where you're starting from.

One test. One plan. One re-test. Every EDU Method program built from there.
