Personalized Training Programs in Reno
Your program isbuilt from your data.
Most gyms in Reno hand you a personalized program based on a questionnaire and a conversation. At Performance EDU it comes from a movement evaluation: we test how your body actually moves and loads, hand you a one-page scorecard, and build the program from those results. Then we re-test to prove it worked.
The Method
How a personalized program actually gets built
Four steps, repeated. Nothing gets prescribed that was not measured first, and nothing stays in your program that the re-test does not support.
Test
A coach runs you through a full movement evaluation: mobility, stability, strength, and how you move under load. We look for the specific limitations that would make a generic program the wrong program for you.
Score
You leave with a one-page scorecard. Plain numbers and plain language, no jargon. It is yours to keep, and it is the reference point everything after this is measured against.
Program
Your coach builds the program off your scorecard. Exercise selection, loading, tempo, and progression are all responses to what we found. Two people who start the same week get different programs.
Re-test
On a schedule we test you again and compare against your scorecard. If a number moved, the program worked and we progress it. If it did not, we change the approach. That loop is the whole system.
Be Specific About It
What personalized means here
The word gets used loosely. Here is the difference between what most facilities mean by a personalized training program and what we mean.
| Element | Commonly | At Performance EDU |
|---|---|---|
| Starting point | Intake form and a goals conversation | A movement evaluation with measured results |
| Exercise selection | Template adjusted for preference and equipment | Chosen against the specific limitations on your scorecard |
| Progression | Add weight when the last session felt easy | Progressed when a re-test shows the quality is there to support it |
| Proof it worked | How you feel and what the scale says | Your scorecard numbers, compared side by side over time |
| Working with rehab | Wait until physical therapy is finished, then start over | Kime Physical Therapy is in the building, so the handoff is direct |
Formats
Same program. Different setting.
Your program is individual regardless of which format you train in. What changes is how much direct coach attention you get and what it costs.
TrainingEDU: one on one
A coach with you the whole session, adjusting in real time. The most direct route through a program. $75 for 30 minutes, $100 for 45, $125 for 60.
SemiEDU: semi-private
Bring one to three training partners. Everyone runs their own program in the same room with a coach on the floor. $50 to $60 per person depending on group size.
BoardEDU: coached membership
Train on your own schedule with a new programmed workout every day and roaming coaches on the floor. $209 per month.
AthleteEDU: competitive athletes
Strength and conditioning built around a season. In-season power maintenance and off-season development. $35 per session or discounted packs.
Who This Is For
People a template fails
Coming off an injury
You have restrictions a generic program does not know about. The evaluation finds them before you load them. See Bridging the Gap.
Skiers and mountain athletes
Your season has a start date and your legs need to be ready for it. See ski and dryland conditioning.
Adults over 50
Strength, mobility, and independence, built around what your joints will actually tolerate right now rather than a program written for a 25 year old.
Plateaued lifters
You have been training for years and stopped progressing. Usually the evaluation finds the limitation that has been quietly capping you.
Competitive athletes
Youth, high school, and collegiate athletes who need programming that respects a competitive calendar, not just a workout.
Facing surgery
Going into an operation stronger generally means an easier rehab. See pre-surgery training.
